$567K MRR from insurance leads, $20K MRR weird faceless YouTube channel
Business opportunities are everywhere
I like browsing marketplaces like Empire Flippers for new business listings, because it gives me business ideas that have been proven to work, with the numbers to back it up.
This week, a few of the listings were very inspiring to me so I thought I’d share.
Sponsored Ad
Back when I ran a done-for-you keyword research agency, it took me days to find just a few hundred good keywords for clients.
I thought, what if there was a way to automate my very manual process?
3 years later, I built a tool that does just that. It’s the most powerful keyword research tool on the planet (I’m biased cause I built it, but give it a try and I think you’ll agree!)
Plans start at just $19.
Plus, you can get 20% off until tomorrow (9/14) with the code LAUNCH
Alright, here are the listings I just had to share:
$567,808 monthly revenue selling insurance leads
Seeing numbers like this makes me question why I bother with building small niche sites.
Why not put the effort into a much more profitable and evergreen business model like insurance leads?
This business (aff link lol) was started just 5 years ago and is listed for sale at a whopping $10,300,000.
Profit margins are about 30%.
And the owner only works on the business 4 hours a week. Tim Ferriss would be proud.
So how does the business work?
They run video ad campaigns on social media, specializing in vehicle accident settlements. Traffic is sent through custom funnels, where personal details are captured and instantly sold to legal call centers and data brokers.
The business owner doesn’t need to worry about customer support, client contracts, or legal service fulfillment. They simply capture and sell leads. Sounds like the perfect online business model!
On the surface, this sounds like an easy business to set up, especially if you have a budget for ads.
Start some social media accounts in an insurance niche like vehicle accidents. Set up an account with legal call centers and data brokers. Build funnels to capture the leads. Then, create video ads (which is apparently super easy and cheap now with AI - scary!) and run them on your social accounts (the expensive part).
According to the listing, the day-to-day operation includes handling ad creation, campaign optimization, and tech operations. The owner outsources the work to a team of contractors.
And by the way, this particular business hasn’t gotten close to reaching its full potential. According to the description:
“Buyers can sell leads directly to law firms for higher margins, build out the untapped SEO opportunity (4,000+ prepared keyword pages), or cross-sell data to complementary industries like injury doctor networks and settlement loan companies.”
I like this business model because it’s infinitely scalable and takes just a few hours of work per week to manage. Same perks that drew me to niche sites and affiliate marketing a decade ago.
And better yet, it’s super boring so most people won’t even consider it.
Check out the listing page for more details. Very inspiring stuff.
$20,309/mo from a weird faceless YouTube channel
This business was started last year, and it already generates $20K/mo.
In a niche most of us wouldn’t consider in a million years.
It’s two YouTube channels in the sci-fi stories niche. One channel has 47K subscribers. The other has 41K.
I was surprised to see how few subscribers the channels have considering the monthly revenue. Looks like I need to get more serious about YouTube!
The channels upload videos daily, and all revenue is from AdSense.
According to the listing description; “the seller develops prompts and video ideas, a freelance writer (aided by AI) drafts the script, and a video editor assembles and uploads the finished product.”
You wouldn’t need a whole team to build a faceless channel like this, but if you’re earning $20,000/mo, may as well outsource the work!
The business is listed for sale at $296,151.
Imagine starting a silly youtube channel today and then next year you can sell it and afford this:

2022 McLaren 720S listed for $294,999 at duPont Registry
I sometimes think about that and wonder why I didn’t start a silly youtube channel last year. Or the year before. I guess there’s always today!
Anyway, go check out the listing for more details on the business. Very inspiring if you do YouTube!
$5,000/mo from plumbing leads (completely passive)
Another lead generation business.
This time, it’s a portfolio of 13 sites in the plumbing niche, targeting the same general geographic area.
It’s listed for sale at $150K.
What’s crazy is how passive it is. The seller hasn’t added any content to the sites in 12 months, yet it brings in about $5,000 each month like clockwork.
The business doesn’t rely on paid traffic. Customer leads are acquired through organic search. Traffic ranges from 1,000-1,500/mo.
Another dream business model.
Check out the listing for all the details.
I hope you found these businesses as inspiring as I did! See why I love browsing business marketplaces? You can learn so much about different business models and whether they actually work.
Thanks for reading!
