Brand-new site gets 13 million monthly visits from Google!?

Content sites aren't dead yet

I was browsing Site Stats Database for sites started less than a year ago that are getting lots of traffic, and stumbled on this gem:

13.2 million monthly visitors in November. 9.7 million in December (according to SimilarWeb, which is usually the most accurate traffic estimation tool in my experience).

But the real crazy thing is that this site is currently about 9 months old. The domain was registered on April 3rd, 2024.

And one more crazy fact. Perhaps the craziest of all…

This is a content site getting traffic primarily from Google organic search!

The primary traffic source is organic search

So what’s the site?

Drumroll please…

pokemon-zone .com

It ranks first on Google for lots of Pokemon deck-related keywords, which is how it gets so much traffic.

And this is not the only new site getting tons of traffic.

Here’s another:

This is a pure content site, monetized with ads and affiliate links. And it’s even younger.

The domain was registered October 3rd, 2024.

That makes it just over 3 months old.

Here’s yet another:

Once again, a pure content site. And the content appears to be 100% AI-generated. So…yes, even pure AI content sites can still do well.

If you want to see the two sites I shared above (and hundreds more new sites with high traffic), go grab a Site Stats Database account.

I just updated Site Stats Database to include monthly traffic data from September 2023 to January 2025 for every single site.

I also added over 49,000 more sites to the database, including ALL sites currently monetized with Mediavine Journey ads!

There’s soooooo much more you can do with Site Stats Database besides finding high traffic new sites.

Here’s a list:

Find sites with high traffic and low DA

Filter by traffic and domain authority to uncover sites doing disproportionately well.

Find HCU recoveries (yes, really)

Find link-building opportunities

Filter by niche, traffic, and Domain Authority to find perfect targets for a link-building outreach campaign.

Find the fastest-growing sites

(Or sort by greatest traffic loss to see the fastest-shrinking sites).

Find weird niche ideas

Lots of fun and generally overlooked by your fellow marketers/SEOs.

Some interesting examples from the database…

fivegallonideas .com

sunrisesunset .com

power-plug-sockets .com

Find brand-new sites getting traffic (like I shared earlier)
