I launched a directory of writers who DON'T use AI yesterday

...it's had 1,195 visits since then!

Yesterday I launched aifreewriters.com - a directory of, well, “AI-free” writers (and agencies).

There’s been lots of demand recently for writers who still write content themselves without infusing AI into their work.

Which is how I got the idea for this directory.

Since that launch tweet, the site has received 1,195 visits and 13 listings were added. Some of them look so good, I’m considering placing an order!

It’s been a wild ride

Just 30 minutes after having the initial idea Wednesday night, I built the site in 2 hours and 17 minutes using just WordPress and a plugin called Directorist.

Since the launch yesterday, I’ve had lots of great discussions with people about the site - ideas for improvement, bugs, etc.

I was super excited when levelsio replied, since he was my inspiration (just reading the beginning of his MAKE book is crazy inspiring).

His response was to a bug where a user was having trouble with the login functionality, and it got me thinking…why should I require people to create an account?

So, I added the option for guests to add listings. Most people still create an account as it allows them to manage the listing later, but at least there’s the option. It definitely takes away some friction.

I also had the idea last night to add another directory, this one for people who are looking for a writer to work with.

So, I just added a “Requests” directory. This one doesn’t require an account either.

It’s been a fun ride so far, and I have no plans of slowing down. I honestly think this site could be far bigger and even go viral.

With the amount of eyeballs on the site already, I have no doubt lots of people will benefit from it, either by gaining new customers or by finding writers to work with.

I realize this isn’t my typical “niche site”-related email, but hopefully you enjoyed it nonetheless. I’ve always been entrepreneurial and love building and launching new things beyond just niche sites.

Speaking of niche sites, I just received the first article back from Click Vision (affiliate link) yesterday and was very happy with it!

Super excited for the rest to arrive so I can hopefully hit my goal of publishing 30 new articles on my case study site this month.
