This is one of the best niches I've ever seen

The numbers are insane...

The other day, I was looking through Site Stats Database and came across one of the best niche ideas I’ve ever seen.

It’s not a new niche. You’ve probably heard of it.

But I had no idea how profitable it coud be.

One site I found makes $60K/mo, from ~100K monthly visitors. I reveal the site at the end of this email, so read on!

The niche? Classified ads.

These aren’t your typical content-based niche sites. These are sites where people pay a small fee to advertise something they have for sale.

By the way, you can find crazy good niches like this in a matter of minutes by using Site Stats Database.

It’s by far the best niche discovery tool I know of.

And it’s good for a lot more than just niche discovery. Check it out here and be sure to watch the video to get an idea of how powerful the tool is!

Classified ads sites were very popular a couple decades ago.

And they still work today.

Here’s a great example:

Based on the traffic chart, you’d think the site is dying (maybe it is - but keep reading):

Shockingly, the site is still doing very well.

How do I know this?

I counted up the number of new listings in May (not including those that have already been removed cause the car sold) and multiplied that by the price to submit a listing.

So far - just in May - this site has made $1,676.30.

There have been 64 regular listings (which cost $19.95 each) and 10 featured listings ($39.95 each) posted in May so far. And the month isn’t over yet. AND, this only counts the listings which haven’t sold! The site will almost definitely make over $2,000 in May - despite the low traffic.

And by the way, Ahrefs only shows Google organic traffic. So the actual traffic is probably quite a bit higher. SimilarWeb estimates the site gets 15,200 monthly visitors, most of which is direct traffic.

In case you’re wondering if there’s still room in the classified ads site market, here’s ANOTHER classified ad site for Corvettes. A direct competitor, that’s also doing well:

This site charges a bit more per listing, at $25.

So far in May, there have been 11 “basic” ads ($25 each), 13 “enhanced” ads ($35 each), and 6 “featured” ads ($40 each). That comes out to $970 in May so far.

This site likely makes $1,500+ per month.

Just think of the opportunity here. There are thousands of car models. And dozens (maybe hundreds) that are at least as popular as Corvettes.

And while the classified ads model works particularly well for vehicles, there are plenty of non-vehicle niches where classified ads work great. Farm animals, collectibles, antiques, and musical instruments are popular niches where a classified ads site would work great.

If you want more inspiration, browse the categories on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. Here are the categories on Craigslist:

Out of curiosity, I checked horse classified ads sites and found this:

In the last 30 days, 2,081 new horses were listed. 230 of them are “spotlight” ads, which cost $100. Regular ads cost $20. If my math is correct (and if I understand the pricing correctly), the site has made $60K in the last 30 days.

With over 2 million ads listed in total since the site’s inception, DreamHorse has likely earned ~$60 million.

Absolutely insane.

And traffic has been on the rise, unlike the Corvette classified sites:

What about keyword difficulty though?

Not bad. Not bad at all:

DreamHorse’s top keywords

So… time to start a classified ads site? Lol.

If you know how to use WordPress, it’s not hard to build a classified ad site. There are lots of free plugins that provide all the necessary functionality. Just search for “classified ad” plugins.

If you don’t use WordPress, there are plenty of website builders that support classified ads-style sites. Do a bit of research and you’ll see.

Hope you found this inspirational!

Thanks for reading,

Ian
