Revealing 5 low-competition online tool niches

...and how I found them

Most online tool niches are very competitive.

It makes sense.

They can be incredibly lucrative. For example, I wrote here about a simple image-to-text site that gets 3 million monthly visitors and probably makes around $30K/mo.

On top of that, many online tools can be built once and require little to no maintenance. Tool sites are great for earning almost true passive income.

And one more thing.

With AI, anyone can build online tool sites. This opens the door to non-developers like me. It’s a huge opportunity, but it also means the competition is tough.

If you subscribed late yesterday or today and wanted to see my previous email about the brand-new, low competition niche I found, you can read it here.

So… are there any online tool niches that aren’t competitive?

I used my tool, Site Stats Database, to find out.

To find low competition tool niche ideas, I entered “calculator”, “converter”, and “generator” in the Niche filter, set the domain registration date to 2022 or newer, and sorted by highest traffic.

This brought up a list of online tool sites that were built in 2022 or later, getting decent traffic. When a new site gets lots of traffic, that’s a great indicator that the niche it’s in has little competition.

There were over 100 results, but a few really stood out as super simple and easy to build.

Here they are:

  1. Rickroll link generator: https://instantrickroll.com/

  2. School age calculator: https://www.school-start.com/

  3. Random fact generator: https://www.randomfactgenerator.com/

  4. Upside down text generator: https://upsidedowntext.top/

  5. Fantasy points calculator: https://fantasypointscalculator.com/

These sites all get 10,000+ monthly visitors according to SimilarWeb. They’re also super simple and would probably take less than a day to build (with the help of ChatGPT if you don’t know how to code).

There are tons more online tool niche ideas you can find using SSDB. And soon, there’ll be even more.

I’m going to add another 100,000+ sites to the database soon, many of which are online tools. If you want lifetime access, get it now. I’ll be removing the lifetime plan when I add this next batch of sites.

Hope this email gave you some ideas or inspiration.

Are you building online tools? I think they can be a great set-it-and-forget-it type of side hustle.

Thanks for reading,

Ian
