These niche sites are FLYING
198,000 monthly visitors in 7 months!?
It’s been awhile since you heard from me. I’ve been super busy with taxes and updating Site Stats Database. Both of those tasks are finished now, so I finally have time to write a proper newsletter.
Today’s email is about niche sites that are CRUSHING it on Google right now.
Yeah, they still exist.
If you don’t believe me, keep reading and you’ll be surprised. I was pretty shocked by some of these.
I just updated Site Stats Database yesterday, adding 51,000+ new sites and traffic data up to April 2025.
The database now has over half a million sites!!!
It includes extensive data for each site, such as monthly traffic numbers since Sept 2023, the % change in traffic between every month, paid traffic, number of keywords, number of backlinks, Domain Authority, monetization method, age, niche, language, and more.
It’s by far the most comprehensive tool of its kind.
Successful niche site #1: AccountingInsights .org

It’s boring, it’s drab, but it’s simple and profitable.
What I find crazy is that it’s a typical niche site, à la 2018. It looks like it’s straight outta the golden age of niche sites.
100% pure content site.
Heavy keyword targeting.
No attempt at demonstrating EEAT.
Tons of simple articles without imagery, graphs, or anything fancy. Just keyword-rich headings and walls of text. See below.

If I were shown this site and asked to guess its traffic, I’d guess 0 from Google (maybe thousands a month from Bing/Yahoo/DDG, though). This is the type of site that got destroyed by Google’s 2023 “Helpful Content Update”.
Boy, would I be wrong.
Apparently, Google loves this site.

65K monthly visitors from Google according to Ahrefs. Likely underestimated.
SimilarWeb shows much higher numbers.

Most of that traffic is from the US. And 70% of it is from organic search (according to SimilarWeb).

Accounting Insights is monetized with Mediavine ads. Based on some rough napkin math, they’re likely earning $10,000-$15,000/mo if SimilarWeb’s numbers are to be believed.
Accounting is a high value niche, so it could easily be more.
Successful niche site #2: CreativeKidsColor .com

This site provides topical coloring page PDFs for free. There are 80 posts on the site in total, so it’s not huge. However, each post includes dozens of different coloring pages.
For example, the top page is “Hello Kitty coloring pages”, and it has 54 coloring page PDFs.
Each PDF targets a secondary keyword. For example, “hello kitty merry christmas coloring page” and “christmas hello kitty coloring page”:

Very smart strategy.
And it’s paying off big time. This site’s traffic trajectory is mouth-watering.

The low DR of just 1.5 indicates that this is a very low competition niche.
But, before you go start your own coloring page site, keep in mind copyright issues. You’d need permission or a licensing deal to make branded coloring pages. I don’t know if this site got permission or not. But if not, they’ll likely face some legal issues soon.
So, to avoid copyright issues, stick with non-branded coloring pages. They may be a bit more competitive, but you won’t have the prospect of a lawsuit looming over your head.
And by the way, don’t worry if you don’t know how to make a coloring page. I certainly don’t have the skills, and yet I made this in less than a minute with ChatGPT:

So yeah, anyone can do this for better or worse lol.
Now…given CreativeKidsColor’s traffic, what’s their revenue like?
My estimate is $3,000-$5,000/month. The site is monetized with Journey by Mediavine ads.
Not half bad for a 7-month old site (yes, the domain was registered on 9/13/2024)!
Successful niche site #3: EpisodeHive .com

This site has lots of data about TV shows. Such as user reviews, which they use to produce pages like “The Best Episodes of [TV Show]”.
Like this:

Each line is an episode. Taller lines indicate a higher user rating.
Pretty smart strategy, using data to produce unique content in the massive niche of TV shows.
This obviously isn’t just a simple content site that anyone could build. But, it’s certainly possible to build something like this using AI if you don’t know how to code.
It would not be too difficult to replicate this site using an IDE like Cursor, Windsurf, or VSCode with Cline or something similar.
If you don’t know what any of that means, just do a bit of research on it. Those are tools that can create full blown websites and SaaS apps just from prompts.
If you want more proof that it’s possible to build a site like this as a non-developer, allow me to present InTheTap.com.
Mike (@NicheDown on X), who isn’t a developer, built it with Cursor in several weeks. It’s got TONS of data on tap water all across the US. The level of detail for each location is wild. See this for example.
So yeah, not impossible to build a giant, data-rich directory like EpisodeHive, even if you don’t know how to code.
Oh yeah, about EpisodeHive…
Here’s the traffic:

832,000 monthly visitors, and the site was only launched in June of 2023. Less than two years ago.
I’d guestimate monthly revenue to be around $10,000-$15,000 (the site is monetized with ads).
If that’s not inspiring, I don’t know what is!
By the way, I used Site Stats Database to find the above sites. I sorted by highest traffic change from March 2024-April 2025 to find sites that are crushing it on Google AFTER the 2024 March Core update, which was the nail in the coffin for most content sites.
I updated Site Stats Database yesterday, adding 51,000+ new sites AND monthly traffic data up to April 2025 (and beginning Sept 2023).
Not only does the database include the traffic data, it even includes the % change in traffic between every month, so you can easily sort and filter to find winning sites after any Google update!
SSDB is by far the largest database of its kind, with extensive data for over 510,000 sites in every niche imaginable.
I use it to find low competition niches, winning sites, and even link building opportunities. It’s a ridiculously powerful tool. Read more about it here if you’re curious.
That’s it for this email.
Thanks for reading!
